A termite / Wood-Destroying Insect (WDI), or Organism (WDO) inspection is a specialized evaluation aimed at identifying the presence of termites and other wood-destroying organisms in a property. Conducted by certified pest control professionals, this inspection involves a thorough examination of the structure, including the foundation, walls, and attics, where termites typically nest or travel. Inspectors look for signs of infestation, such as mud tubes, fecal pellets, shelter tunnels, damaged wood, and frass (wood debris).

During the WDO inspection, inspectors also assess the environmental conditions that may attract termites, such as moisture issues and proximity to wood or landscaping features that could facilitate their entry into the home.
